While you want to keep your business processes the same, you also want to tailor each onboarding experience to the specific person. You want them to feel valued, not like just another cog in your company’s wheel.

Keep to your checklist, but offer something personalized, such as giving them specific company swag for their team or adding them to the company’s newsletter. Even something minimal can help your new employee feel valued. 

Clearly Outline Responsibilities

You’ll have much less employee turnover if you clearly outline their roles and responsibilities from day one. 

A manager should be able to sit down with the new employee and explain their day-to-day duties and expectations. This can also allow the employee to ask any questions about the company or procedures in place. 

If you use recruitment agencies, make sure they have a clear understanding of what you’re looking for in your employees. 

Involve Company Leaders

New employees will feel more valued at your company if the leaders of the company are involved. This will show them that they will have a relationship with the managers who make important decisions in the business, which will ultimately affect them. 

Their involvement can make new employees want to work harder and be more engaged if they feel they have a voice in the company as well.
