The work of a business analyst does not consist of writing code or building components, but rather of laying out a plan for the development of software, gadgets, or machines. Every stakeholder can see the software or machinery that is going to be developed because business analysts operate in the virtual world. They construct things out of thin air. As a result of these factors, both the information provided to business analysts and the information they produce constitute information.

In the long run, this knowledge leads to a product that fits the needs of the consumer. Many strategies are used to gather, organise, process and display this data for the benefit of the business analyst as well as their stakeholders. These two names are often used interchangeably, however this is not always the case.
